Since hearing about them on the All Songs Considered podcast earlier in the year, I’ve been excited about the vibe that Nothing are bringing back to the Shoegaze scene. By that, I mean, I enjoy bands like The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and all, but a lot of it strikes me as indie-pop with added drone – enjoyable, but not what we’ve come to expect.
Nothing are playing Birthdays in Dalston – a venue that, in name, is the last place you’d expect them to play. But play they will. Get your tickets here.
Their album, Guilty of Everything, was released back in March. Also, in advance of the show, the band are releasing a split single with Whirr, out on 17th November which contains the non-album track July the Fourth.
