2nd June 2014 – London Gigs Under a Tenner: Sharon Van Etten, Wild Smiles, New Desert Smiles

Monday, 2nd June
New Desert Blues @ The Lexington, £8 – Tickets

Fresh from their tour supporting Augustines, and releasing teaser tracks from their forthcoming album, New Desert Blues should be one to catch before they upsize their shows.

Wild Smiles @ Sebright Arms, £6 – Tickets

Drawing similarities all over the place to different genres and being universally not hailed for bringing their surf rock sound to noise guitars seem to be Wild Smiles defining factors. Honestly, I just hear Ramones with a clearer voice, again I’m not necessarily hailing this.

Wednesday, 4th June

Sharon Van Etten @ Rough Trade East, FREE

While this is in-store show unlikely to be easy to stroll into, and a pre-show album purchase doesn’t exactly make this a free show, but you should have the album and, if you can, you should make this show. Especially if you’re regretting not getting tickets to her sold out KOKO show.
