Well, it’s been a while. I’ve been away for a bit, unwell for another bit, busy trying to catch up for the other part. I’m glad that I’m finally catching up here…
So here are the gigs worth catching this week:
Thursday, May 15th:
- Sophie Jamieson, Beatrix Players, Declan Guckian @ The Finsbury (FREE)
I’ve talked about Sophie Jamieson before and I’ve been a fan since seeing her a few months back (this may even have been my last blogpost). This is a free show, but they need to be booked in advance. Get yourself some. Go and enjoy a Thursday.
- William , Radstewart , Playlounge , John @ The Old Blue Last, (ALSO FREE)
If you’re looking for something a bit for “indie” and percussive rock, then get theyself to the Old Blue Last for all of these guys. I have to say that I’ve heard of the second band more than the first, but on a listen prefer them in reverse order, so get there early.
William – Lustreless
Radstewart – Insane Parties
Playlounge – Waves and Waves and Waves
John – Johnny’s Got A Sleeve
- Friday, May 16th: Yann Tiersen @ Rough Trade East, FREE
If you’re kicking yourself at missing tickets for his sold out show at the ICA on Wednesday, make your way down to Rough Trade East on Friday for what may be a less entrancing session, but it’s usually more raw and definitely more free.
Yann Tiersen – Janet
