The weekend was quiet! OK, it wasn’t. There was Super Bowl and crazy stories of people not playing live and U2 releasing a new song. But forget that stuff, here’s what happened from Monday:
1: Klaxons unleash new song with an Album due in March.
It was all set to be a quiet monday with no surprises, until Klaxons came along with their now song and everyone went crazy. Introducing the first song of the year to be overplayed to the point of hatred. (video above)

2: Fear of Men release the opening song(s) from their upcoming album, Loom.
Well, double/lead-in tracks are a rarity in the days of mp3 and single-song culture. It gives me the first impression of an album that my be well put together. And an album that has an intro1 as good as this deserves some attention.

3: Angel Olsen’s video for Hi-Five is here.
It’s here and Angel Olsen delivers it in a “OK, have it already” kind of way. High five. She’s also playing next month in Dingwalls!

4: Ellie Goulding and Angel Haze covered James Blake’s “Life Round Here”
It’s not bad at all – enjoyable even – apart from the inevitable expectation that Angel Haze is going to rap soon. Things start to sound very 90’s. Ellie Goulding is also playing next month, but at the intimible O2.

5: Prince stops making headlines for a second to give us a new song
He’s taken a break from starting and stopping suing unknown bootleggers and appearing on New Girls to give us a preview of his new stuff. And, yep, it’s Prince. There are rumours that he’s going to play some shows in London this year, any one know any more?
